Little Man | Sebastian | Zionsville Newborn Photographer

Love love loved my session with the Piropato's and their new little guy, Sebastian.  He was a big guy (over 9 lbs at birth) but he was so squishy and sleepy for our session and it just flowed perfectly.  He was a dream.  It's not often I can execute all of the setups and poses I have planned but I was able to get through everything I had in mind for his session.  He wore it all so well - the neutrals, the greys and especially that green tucked-in pose.....so so so cute!  And mom and dad - gorgeous and super sweet as well.  Loved getting to know these high school sweethearts.  (:

Baby Reagan | Indianapolis Newborn Photographer

I always like to get to know my clients before our session, especially my newborn clients.  But it's not very often (or EVER) that I get to see a video blog of my client's lives on YouTube before we meet.  Gabrielle and Chad starting vlogging their lives over five years ago and are now YouTube stars with a following of 300,000 subscribers.  Check them out at GabeBabeTV on YouTube.  Anyway, in doing my research and watching their videos I was especially interested in their nursery reveal video.  Gabrielle had a distinct vision for the nursery and it features a beautiful wall with big pink flower prints with a black background.  It's gorgeous and it really was my inspiration when designing the session.

Their daughter Reagan was born on January 12th.  She was welcomed by the cutest 5 year old brother, Chad Jr.  You can see below the amazing photos he took with his new sister - honestly the most smooth sibling photos I've ever taken.  He is going to be the best big brother.

So congrats to the Rader Family and a huge thanks for choosing me as your photographer.  See the video they posted of their newborn session here (my YouTube debut)!

Sweet Penelope | The Baird Family | Indianapolis Newborn Photographer

Sweet Penelope was a doll in the studio back in December - look at that smile she gave me right off the bat!  And that hair....and those little lips.  Swoon!  Although she will probably be quite the feisty one with two older siblings (trust me, I have first-hand experience with that).  Thanks Ann and Bob for choosing me to photograph your crew during this special and crazy time in your lives.  You are so blessed!

Baby Jackson | Indianapolis Newborn Photographer

This precious little guy was an October baby, originally slated to be born on Friday the 13th.  Well, he did not like the idea of being born on such a scary date, so he came early and we held his newborn on that day instead.  (:  Jackson was the sweetest....I seriously wish all sessions could flow this easily.

The Harmon's mentioned they are not huge picture people, but, boy does that change when you have a little one.  I know I purchased my first "real" camera when we had our first child.  You realize how important photos are when the little human in your life changes every single day.  And when he makes cute faces and says the craziest things.....you will want to remember everything.  Thanks to the Harmon's for inviting me into your home and into your world for a few hours.

In a Flash | Tyson's Arrival | Indianapolis Newborn Photographer

I've shared on this blog before that adoption holds a special place in my heart.  For one - I am adopted.  For two, my dad was adopted and so was his brother, and so was his biological sister whom sought him out years and years later.  Adoption is a huge part of my family and I know if my husband and I were not able to bear children, we would have gone down that path as well.  The Nadar family featured in this blog have one biological three year old son, Jackson, and in September they adopted Tyson.  They felt the calling to adopt and help a child who needed a good home.  They were notified of Tyson's arrival somewhat out of nowhere (Stephanie had just arrived in Chicago for a work function and had to turn around and drive all the way back) and off they went to the hospital to see their new baby boy.  And in a flash, they were a family of four.

My heart is so happy there are people out there like the Nadar's and my mom and dad, and my grandparents that were so open to adoption.  They took a child in that is not their flesh and blood but they love them with the same fierceness. I always say it must be scary to adopt because you never know what you are going to get...I can say that because I'm adopted.  (:  But I hope that Tyson will never feel left out or different in any way because of that. I've embraced being adopted and I hope he grows up feeling the same way.  We're lucky.  We're loved.  We found a home.

Now on to the cuteness.  The pics of Jackson and Tyson are priceless - brothers for life.

Thank you so much to the Nadar family for trusting me to document such a special time in your lives.  If you are looking for a maternity or newborn photographer in the Indianapolis area, please contact me at kellymartinphotos@gmail.com or 765-749-4388.
